Almost home
Well we are on our last couple of days now here in Antigua.
Today we have all the girls last swimming lessons here in Antigua. they have all really come on so well, we are going to struggle to find a swim school as good in the UK.
Over the last 2 weeks they have received the following awards:
Hannah - Water Skills Level 6; 2000m
Lauren - Water Skills Level 5; 1500m
Jessica - Puffin 5m; Duckling 1,2 and 3
We have already made enquiries about swimming lessons at the Lancashire and hope that they can carry on doing as well as they have here in Antigua.
We have our last meal out on Thursday and have chosen Pete's to be the place to go. We all love Pete's and have never had a bad meal there. It will be really strange to think that we won't be eating there again for another 6 months, and that's only if we do come back here in October for a week.
The house sale finally completed and the car transferred on Friday of last week, only 4 days late...but that's Antigua for you. We even had to push for that to happen as the lawyers were all content to wait until this week to get everything sorted out!!!! Antigua is great for many things, but getting things done on time forget it!!! It will never happen.
We still haven't heard anything about getting Hannah and Lauren back into St. Michael's yet. We think we will be heard at the next appeal meeting which is set for the end of April, so they will be having an extended Easter holiday. I can't really do much from here to get things moving any quicker, but come Monday i will be phoning Rochdale Council to see if the appeal can be heard any quicker.
Jessica has her application in for pre-school and will hopefully start in September, but again i can't find anything out from over here so will have to wait until after the Easter holidays. I don't quite know how she will cope with not going to pre-school anymore until September as she really enjoyed it over here in Antigua. An advantage in the UK though is the number of toddler groups that run, so she won't be short of things to do.
All our packing is almost complete and i'll get any last bits of washing sorted tomorrow morning before we head off to the airport. Due to the clocks changing in the UK our flight now leaves at 5.05pm only 10 minutes after the virgin flight. So we have decided to leave for the airport at 1.30pm to give us plenty of time to check in as there are 6 of us and 13 bags so it may take a while. Once we have checked in we can go over to the Sticky Wicket and chill out there until it's time to board. Then it's time to go home, so get ready England the Brown family is coming home!!!!!
My next installment on the blog will be from the UK, so for now....
Good-bye from Antigua
